Immerse in an ECO-Tour and Experience Southwest Florida Islands by Boat

“Captain Brian Holaway is well versed in the intricacies of our unmatched locale. He can guide to and through a multitude of out-of-the way tidal creeks, bayous, keys and islands. More important is his passionate interest and respect for the region. With unique insights from his many explorations and his studies, not only does he identify the birds and wildlife that inhabit our semi-tropical watery land, but he explains their interconnectedness to their environment and each other. In addition, he shares the fascinating history of rugged people who came long before us: Florida Native Indians, the Calusa, the Spanish, the Cubans, early homesteaders, and the wisdom evident in the growth of their culture.

You will come away with great enjoyment and a new understanding of this beautiful place and its history.”

Two Trips With The Chicago Sisters

The Chicago sisters traveled with me for two early morning trips. The early morning light on our second trip was stunning. The north wind had the water extremely low. We watched many live olive shells nestle in the sand. Many treasures were found, even a message in a bottle. I still need to pursue deciphering what it says. You never know what you will find.  The long time shellers from Chicago are always prepared for shelling and always a pleasure to shell with. I look forward to our trips in March.   Capt. Brian

Steller Day With Dean and Bonnie

Dean and Bonnie have been coming to Sanibel since the 1980's.  Bonnie stepped off the boat and found a sand dollar then another and another and another. She also found sea urchins and a very cool jingle shell with both sides in tact. They are always fun to shell with and listen to their conversations. Bonnie enjoys making crafts out of shells such as ornaments and Christmas trees. Dean makes anything from wood for Bonnie's shell creations. They both are excellent shellers and always a joy to have on the boat.

Sheri and Sam

The day of the blood moon we left the dock under the cover of darkness. The fist morning light was appearing as the moon disappeared into the haze. We had hoped to see the blood moon on the water but nature had other plans. However, there is nothing like being on the water at first light. We traveled to an area we had all been to before and shelled the beach. Sam gathered sea urchins and starfish. Sheri has an excellent shelling eye and found a scotch bonnet, a gaudy nautica, olives and nice worm shells. It is always a pleasure talking with Sheri and Sam and exploring. Thanks for getting up early and another fun day on the water.  Capt. Brian
