Immerse in an ECO-Tour and Experience Southwest Florida Islands by Boat

“Captain Brian Holaway is well versed in the intricacies of our unmatched locale. He can guide to and through a multitude of out-of-the way tidal creeks, bayous, keys and islands. More important is his passionate interest and respect for the region. With unique insights from his many explorations and his studies, not only does he identify the birds and wildlife that inhabit our semi-tropical watery land, but he explains their interconnectedness to their environment and each other. In addition, he shares the fascinating history of rugged people who came long before us: Florida Native Indians, the Calusa, the Spanish, the Cubans, early homesteaders, and the wisdom evident in the growth of their culture.

You will come away with great enjoyment and a new understanding of this beautiful place and its history.”

New Places On The Chart

Billy Idol drove me to the waters edge. But it was Robert Earl Keen that led the way. I made many discovories along the way. . I have wanted to explore this remote island for some time, I wanted to check this island out in early December, but today was the day.

What a fun afternoon with Rebecca, Garret, Nicole and Jamie. We took advantage of the extremely low tide and explored the flats. The live shells were a beautiful sight to see. Garret led the way finding many large lightning whelks. His girlfriend enjoyed the shells from a safe distance. Jamie was a great little adventurer and pointed out many live shells and a beautiful starfish. I enjoyed talking with Rebecca about cameras as she took many photos of the kids and wildlife. Rebecca is an outdoor lady (who walked barefoot on the flats I might add) and has a quick eye for photography. We all got a great look of a 4 foot bonnet head shark that was trapped in a tidal pool.  Garret followed it for a while in knee deep water with his mom right behind him taking pictures. It was a great day on the  water with an adventurous family.

Exploring With The Merriman Family

The weather was perfect for a day of exploring with Steve, Rita and Mike. We listened to dolphin breathing, while Mike took pictures of  the whole experience on our way to favorite spot number 1. Mike wanted to find an angel wing and ended up finding a great specimen of one. Rita was enjoying finding shells both in the water and on the beach. She could have stayed there all day. Steve was  enjoying everyone enjoying themselves. I enjoyed the conversations with Steve about photography. Thank you for a fun day on the water exploring.
