Immerse in an ECO-Tour and Experience Southwest Florida Islands by Boat

“Captain Brian Holaway is well versed in the intricacies of our unmatched locale. He can guide to and through a multitude of out-of-the way tidal creeks, bayous, keys and islands. More important is his passionate interest and respect for the region. With unique insights from his many explorations and his studies, not only does he identify the birds and wildlife that inhabit our semi-tropical watery land, but he explains their interconnectedness to their environment and each other. In addition, he shares the fascinating history of rugged people who came long before us: Florida Native Indians, the Calusa, the Spanish, the Cubans, early homesteaders, and the wisdom evident in the growth of their culture.

You will come away with great enjoyment and a new understanding of this beautiful place and its history.”

Beautiful February Day On The Water

Another fun adventure with Morgan, Chad and Chad's brother. We started on the flats exploring and taking photos. Many live shells were observed, but none taken. We headed off to secret spot no number for a quick stop, then onto secret Z spot. The beach was beautiful and the walk was full of surprises. On our return trip we watched a dolphin shimmy over a sand bar into deeper water. It was another beautiful February day.

Unexpected Surprise!

It was a perfect day on the water with  David, Arlene, Jack and Linda from the beautiful state of South Dakota. David is an avid photographer and on this trip we both got an unexpected surprise to photograph, Manta Rays! It has been over 2 decades since these rays have been spotted close to the islands. You can often see spotted eagle rays, cow nose rays and the southern stingray but not the manta ray. David got some great shots of the rays and thanks to his wife for spotting them, I also got some great shots. After a nice walk on the beach and photography on the beach we went to secret spot no number and had a delicious lunch made by Linda. You never know what will appear in the lens of your camera. Thanks for a great day on the water!

An Epic Find

Kathy and I traveled by boat to explore new territory. She has a knack for finding great treasures from the sea whether it is a small tulip or a perfect sand dollar. On this trip she found an amazing lightning whelk and the biggest horse conch I have ever witnessed in the wild. The opening of this large conch was over 5 inches. It was a once in a lifetime find! I was happy to be a part of this epic shell find. WOW!

Photography With Kristin

Kristin is an excellent photographer. This year we didn't get a whole day of shooting photos and exploring in, but we squeezed in what time the weather allowed. Kristin has a great eye for photography and her macro shots are impressive. These pictures of her taking pictures do not give her photos justice. She captured a picture of some tulip egg casings that was amazing. I always learn something from her creative eye. Thank you Kristin for sharing your creativity.
