Veteran shellers returned for a fun filled trip. We started by going to "little avocet island". This is a little sand bar that comes and goes throughout the year. It has not been there for 8 months but appeared 2 weeks before they arrived. After spending some time on this little speck of sand we traveled farther north. The Gulf waters were beautiful. Sand dollars were found along with many olive shells. Manatees and dolphins were spotted. On the return trip we saw my old friend the magnificent frigate bird. Gail and I both took many pictures of this close encounter. Thanks for a wonderful day on the water. Capt. Brian

Captain Brian Celebrates 20 Years on Captiva Island
I walked an old dirt road on Captiva that I used to walk 20 years ago.
I was happy to walk this dirt road once again.

Captain Brian's New Camera
Howdy folks! Yesterday I received my first underwater camera. Today I spent the morning testing it out. I have a lot to learn. The tricky part is keeping balanced with the waves and adjusting to the light as you dive and hover around the object you want to shoot. I look forward to exploring underwater with a new perspective. Fun And Educational Trip
It was another fun and educational trip with Pat, Jen, Ben, Izzy and Ursula. I must say I always learn something new from Ben and Izzy. They are both excellent young shellers who ask the most interesting questions. Jen found a four spotted trivia shell. I have never had one of these found on any of my trips. It was exciting for everyone. I enjoyed talking to Ben about the gold-banded cone. Jen brought along some beautiful shells to show me from one of their trips abroad. The shells were amazing. I look forward to our next adventure with show and tell of the shells we find this year. Thank you for all of the questions and for sharing your shell finds from afar.
Capt. Brian
