Selena and Don spent the day with me exploring the out islands. Selena has been shelling all of her life and her goal is to find one of every species. The morning was spent on a remote stretch of beach shelling. Next we anchored the boat out in the Gulf and enjoyed lunch and good conversation as dolphins swam nearby. We pulled the anchor and traveled to another unique spot to explore the grass flats. I enjoyed the conversation with Don as we walked and talked about books. It was a wonderful day on the water with shellers from the Lone Star State. I look forward to next year's adventures.

THANK YOU for the E-AWARD nominations!
The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau held the 14th Annual Elaine McLaughlin Outstanding Hospitality Service Awards (E-Awards) Ceremony today and I had the pleasure of attending as a nominee in the attractions category. Nominees are recognized for their extraordinary customer service professionalism. Over 600 people were nominated in 7 different categories - Accommodations, Attractions, Best Tourism Boss, Good Samaritan, Other Services/Businesses, Restaurant and Transportation, They choose 3 Honorable Mentions in each category and 1 winner. I was absolutely thrilled when the Attractions Category came up and I was announced as the winner! THANK YOU to all who wrote nomination letters. I sincerely appreciate all of you and feel privileged to show you what I love about Southwest Florida.

Three Sisters
Cindy, Jackie and Kathy are always a breath of fresh air and full of fun. Jackie could shell 24 hours a day and for the most part she does when she is here. On this trip the weather was perfect. We traveled to a remote stretch of beach empty of people. Jackie took off to explore and was soon walking back very excited. She had found an excellent Scotch Bonnet! Kathy found many good shells for her creative craft projects. Cindy walked in the water and just enjoyed her sisters enjoying the day. They all wanted to see a sea turtle. Well the stars were aligned and we saw two turtles on our way back to Captiva. It was a wonderful day on the water again with the three sisters.
