The weather was perfect for spending the day on the water. Nancy loves island hopping and is always up for any adventure. Melissa is an excellent photographer and enjoys taking pictures of birds. We spent the morning at secret spot 13. Nancy walked the beach and Melissa took pictures of the shore birds. Next we were off to super secret spot (Ewa) to photograph my favorite bird, the Magnificent Frigate bird. It was great seeing these guys. Melissa took many photographs and Nancy enjoyed the view as well. Then it was off to our favorite place for lunch... the Tarpon Lodge. Later that afternoon we stopped by the beach before heading back to Captiva. It was another great day on the water with the Johnson Family.

Texas Shellers
It was a great day of exploring with Texas shellers, Selena and Don. We left the dock shortly after 7am and returned at 5. A lot of area was covered. We started at secret spot 05 where we collected on the beach and then went for a little tour of the back country on the island. Next it was off to a quiet area in the mangroves where we dropped anchor and had lunch on the boat. The only sounds to be heard were an Osprey and mullet jumping. After a quiet lunch we went to a long stretch of beach filled with sea urchins and shells. It was a great day with Selena and Don.
I look forward to our next adventure.

Great Day with Penny and Katie
Exploring with Katie and her mom, Penny, is always fun. They are up for whatever comes their way. The weather was perfect for our trip. Many dolphin were spotted on our way to secret spot 11. The beach was filled with a carpet of shells. I enjoyed walking and talking with Penny and Katie as we shelled. It was another great trip with long time clients and friends.
Thank you for a wonderful day. Capt. Brian

Summer Time
A few of you have asked what I have been up to this summer, so I thought I would give you all an update. In June I had a little down time with family and I also started volunteering one day a week at Cayo Costa State Park on their Turtle Patrol which has been educational and rewarding to be able to help document sea turtle nests. In July I had the honor and privilege of carrying the Prisoner Of War Flag along with my veteran friend Captain Dave Godfrey carrying the United States Flag at Sanibel's Annual 4th of July Parade.
Summer time also means longer humid days, regular afternoon thunderstorms and one of my favorite fruits - the MANGO! I went to the 23rd Annual International Mango Festival at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden in Miami which I highly recommend for anyone more curious about this world renowned tropical fruit with over 650 documented varieties. So, you may ask, what is your favorite mango Capt Brian? Well, I it's hard to say with so many different varieties, you will have to do some taste testing yourself if you have the opportunity to visit south Florida in the summer.
For those of you who are regular followers, you may notice that I am posting less on my blog, but it's not because I'm not busy. The writer and photographer in me just needs a break sometimes. I have also started an Instagram account (CaptBrianCaptiva) where you may find a few pictures snapped with my phone when I'm on the water.
Hope you all are having a great summer! See you soon. Capt Brian
